Scottish Artists Archive Network

Apply for this SGSAH-funded internship with Scottish Artists Archive Network, up to 12 weeks FTE, between January & October 2025.

The project will involve assisting with the initial development stages of the Scottish Artists Archives Network (a network of artists archives around Scotland designed to share skills and knowledge).

Location

The role will be predominantly a remote one. However, there will be opportunity for the researcher to visit both the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust and the Alasdair Gray Archive.

 

Project

To assist with the initial development stages of the Scottish Artists Archives Network (a network of artists archives around Scotland designed to share skills and knowledge), by gathering key data (eg mapping archives around the country), building a website, and assisting with initial networking events.

Outputs

Initial mapping of sector to demonstrate need of network resulting in clear research goals that will generate content for a new accessible website. This will be a foundation from which we can grow the network and apply for future funding.

Key Relationships

The project has been initiated by Tilly Heydon, Archivist at The Wilhelmina Barns Graham Trust and Sorcha Dallas, Custodian of The Alasdair Gray Archive. We will jointly supervise the researcher, set regular meetings and milestones as well as connecting them to our wider networks.
