Open Past - Making Humanity

The project is titled Making Humanity and will involve adding to the free resources of the Making Humanity project, either through research and social engagement or through the creation of artistic activities
Deadline for Applications is 15th November 2024.
Location
We anticipate this being remote but given that applicants can have great latitude in developing what they do for the project – this is open to being adapted.
Project
We are running a project, Making Humanity, which provides free art activities for anyone to use around the theme of ‘caring’. There have been colouring sheets, themed around historical or archaeological subjects of people caring for one another. TikTok videos based on the research for the colouring sheets and storytelling workshops based on locations and museum items. You can learn more about the project on the website:
https://making-humanity.org/
Outputs
The goal of this residency/internship will be to add to the free resources of this project. There are two avenues to do so, applicants are free to choose which one they would like to undertake:
1. Research and social engagement. We need to provide short briefs on the topics to the artists. This strand would be creating those briefs i.e. conducting research, finding reference images, etc. Also, the promotion of the existing and new resources. Past interns have worked on creating a podcast, creating TikTok videos/YouTube Shorts, etc. We are open to any ideas of promotion.
2. The creation of additional colouring sheets or broaden out the project to other artistic activities e.g. TikTok videos, story telling workshops, digital games, etc. We are open to proposals in this regard, and you can propose anything, as long as it provides free activities with themes of history, heritage and archaeology.
Please specify in the applications which route you would like to undertake – both will be treated equally when evaluating applicants.
