All doctoral researchers attending one of our member Higher Education Institutions within the arts & humanities are part of the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities. Doctoral researchers can take advantage of all opportunities within the SGSAH Events and Training section and apply for the Cohort Development Fund.
Within the Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities is our AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership for Scotland. The AHRC has awarded 200 doctoral studentships to the DTP (from 2014 to 2019). Our Creative Economies Studentships is also funded through the AHRC and offers collaborative PhDs between insitutions and partners in industry. Read about the research projects being funded through the Creative Economies Studentships here:
The Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities also offers Applied Research Collaborative Studentships (ARCS). ARCS are doctoral projects designed and supervised by at least two higher education institutions (HEIs) and at least one other partner. They must demonstrate mutual benefit for all partners and the doctoral researcher. ARCS are supported by the Scottish Funding Council, who are meeting 50% of the costs of each three-year studentship, which includes a stipend at RCUK rate. The remaining 50% of costs are met by HEIs.
