Claviers & Chorales: Domestic Keyboard Repertoires in North Germany, 1680-1740
David Gerrard holds degrees in music from the University of Oxford & in early keyboard performance studies from the University of Edinburgh. He has held appointments at Canterbury Cathedral, Magdalen College, Oxford, and Paisley Abbey. Having worked extensively with the harpsichords & clavichords in Oxford's Bate Collection & Edinburgh's Russell & Mirrey Collections, David has given recitals on many significant historical instruments. He also has been active as a harpsichord technician & restorer in London. David's research combines musicology, organology & performance to investigate the domestic use of keyboard instruments in Northern Germany in the early 1700s.
