About this Session

Struggling with how to approach conferences? Worried that people seem to just go and do them but you don't know how? This workshop will help you to get to grips with the conference process - from the initial call for papers to networking with fellow attendees. Split into three parts, the workshop will look at: Tackling the CfP; Going from Abstract to Paper; and Networking at the Conference. Designed to introduce you to different approaches, the workshop will give you the opportunity to develop a mock abstract and give you practical tips for the processes involved.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this interactive session, participants will:

  • have developed skills around creating an abstract in response to a CfP.
  • feel more confident with regards to taking part in conferences.
  • have been introduced to different techniques when writing a paper for a conference presentation.
