Simran said of her appointment:

“I am really excited to be taking on this role and contributing to SGSAH's work in advancing inclusive practices and equality across the arts and humanities research community. I welcome this opportunity to build on the fantastic work of my predecessor, Dr Anindya Raychaudhuri, and to get stuck into network and community building and supporting current doctoral researchers as well as pre-doctoral activity. I am looking forward to working with the SGSAH team, partners, and doctoral students to create spaces where everyone can thrive!”

Professor Maria Fusco, who has been Director of SGSAH since January 2026 says, “We are truly delighted that Simran is joining SGSAH at this important time of change. She brings a bank of expertise, knowledge and practical know-how which will continue to enrich SGSAH’s EDI principles, which are foundational to every aspect of its activities.”
